WEB 2.0 Learning opportnity

My Personal Experience

I must admit that at first when I heard about WEB2forDev workshop, I did not have a clue of what it was especially CTA!!! Web 2.0 tools was foreign language for me before the workshop but afterwards when we were introduced about the workshop and about what Web 2.0 tools were about, I realised how outdated I was. We were about 20 participants in this workshop.

Before understanding Web 2.0, the instructors made us understand what Web 1.0 was all about. What I understood from this session is that Web 1.0 is like a one way traffic, that is, if someone needs an information, he just goes on the net to search what he needs and that's it. But with Web 2.0, it's all about creating, sharing and collaborating for development with other users.

This is possible with the use of:
  • Blogs
  • Wikis
  • Tags
  • Feeds
  • Mashups

However, Web 2.0 tools are of no importance without:
  • People
  • Access
  • Participation
  • Content
  • Impact

During the workshop, we were introduced to Web 2.0 tools like:
  • Google Docs
  • Twitter
  • Skype
  • Blogger
  • LinkedIn
  • Google Maps
  • Dgroups
  • Facebook
